Jacobi: When stone becomes a stage for flavour
In the heart of Freiburg, close to the traditional forests of the south, the Jacobi restaurant focuses on simple elegance.
The customised tables made of enamelled lava blend seamlessly into the subtle interior - crafted with precision, developed for the moment.
Mineral depth for the art of serving
Each table was shaped by hand from Auvergne lava and enamelled in French ateliers - in a deep, individually developed shade of grey.
The gently craquelled surface brings a sensual structure to the room - clear, powerful, calm.

A meeting place of craftsmanship and origin
This high-calibre gastronomic region creates an exciting connection:
- French lava meets German craftsmanship
- Natural material with culinary precision
- Reduction as a form of sophistication
A project that shows how table culture, architecture and enjoyment can interact.
On the edge of the Black Forest stands the Restaurant Jacobi for uncompromising gourmet art - run by the Star chef Christoph Kaiser.
For this place of culinary precision, Pyrolave produced all of the Table tops made from hand-enamelled lava stone slabsespecially in a mass-developed Colour GC3 - a deep, elegant grey with a mineral character.
The surface: lively, slightly craquelled, sensual.
The function: robust, timeless, perfect for fine dining.
Each plate becomes a stage for the art on the plate - and a silent player in the overall concept between design, craftsmanship and cuisine.
