Le Meurice: Design for culinary masterpieces
In the first arrondissement of Paris, Le Meurice is a place where craftsmanship at the highest level can be seen.
The enamelled lava stone counter area was designed by the architects at Ciguë as a central element of the room's design - sleek, elegant and well thought-out down to the last detail.
A material that works with you
The surface is not just for presentation, but for the work process itself: The lava stone can withstand temperatures, is food-safe, hygienic and permanently aesthetic.
Horizontal and vertical elements were designed as a single unit - some cooled, others used as storage space.
White, pure, expressive
The colour "Blanc Antique" was chosen to blend in with the historical character of the building.
The natural craquelé effect of the enamel lends depth to the surface, visually enhancing every movement of the pastry chefs.
Design with sophistication and function
The lava basins were deliberately combined with natural materials - wood, brass and stone.
Enamelled lava stone not only provides visual depth, but also impresses with its
- Shock resistance and durability
- Easy-care, non-porous surface
- Timeless aesthetics with artisanal origins
This project shows how design, function and responsibility can work together.
