China Works: the past meets the design of tomorrow
Once the production site of the famous Royal Doulton Pottery, now a pioneering coworking space - China Works combines history with design culture.
At the centre of the newly designed space: an elongated bar area made of enamelled lava - bold in colour, clear in form.
A material for creativity and durability
Lava stone in the colour Emeraude was used for the counter area - both horizontally and vertically. The combination of smooth surfaces and ornamental shapes emphasises the architectural depth of the room.
Design that connects people
The bar area is more than just a piece of furniture - it is a meeting point, a stage, an interface.
The interplay of robust surface and elegant finish makes Lava the bearer of the new working experience.
Design with sophistication and function
The lava basins were deliberately combined with natural materials - wood, brass and stone.
Enamelled lava stone not only provides visual depth, but also impresses with its
- Shock resistance and durability
- Easy-care, non-porous surface
- Timeless aesthetics with artisanal origins
This project shows how design, function and responsibility can work together.
The choice in favour of Pyrolave was a decision in favour of quality, sustainability - and aesthetics that last.
China Works in London is a successful example of architectural transformation:
The former building of the Royal Doulton Pottery from the 19th century was turned into a modern coworking space remodelled - with a focus on functionality, history and design.
The central counter made of Enamelled lava stone in the colour Émeraude combines horizontal and vertical surfaces to form a visual unit. Particularly impressive: the ornamental forms were carved out of solid blocks of lava - filigree and yet structurally stable.
