Bellaria: Viennese history reinterpreted
Café Bellaria has been a fixture of Viennese coffee house culture since 1870. In the course of a sensitive redesign, a central element was added: an imposing, continuous counter block made of enamelled lava - manufactured in Volvic and designed in the colour Nimbus.
Material as a cultural bridge
The lava stone surface combines past and present - classic in appearance, contemporary in design. It symbolises a deliberate use of materials that combines durability and style.
A place for any time of day
Café Bellaria lives versatility - breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar. The counter block supports this openness: functional, elegant and as the stylistic centre of the room.
Design with sophistication and function
The lava basins were deliberately combined with natural materials - wood, brass and stone. Enamelled lava stone not only provides visual depth, but also convinces with its natural appearance:
- Shock resistance and durability
- Easy-care, non-porous surface
- Timeless aesthetics with artisanal origins
This project shows how design, function and responsibility can work together.
The choice in favour of Pyrolave was a decision in favour of quality, sustainability - and aesthetics that last.
An institution in Vienna since 1870 - and now stylishly reinterpreted:
The Café Bellaria combines cultural heritage with modern design. Centrepiece of the renovation: a XXL counter made of enamelled lava stone in the colour Nimbus - Noble, timeless and full of character.
The interior of KLK Architects combines historical elements such as the imposing dome with modern accents, such as bright red Thonet chairs. Pyrolave emphasises this balance of tradition and trend awareness with the new counter.
