A new type of corporate space
Universal Design Studio developed a lobby concept for British Land that breaks with classic business aesthetics.
Instead of sterile representation, a place was created that unites encounters, a sense of well-being and architectural aspirations - with Pyrolave as a textural accent.
Reserved. Self-confident. High quality.
The lava stone surfaces used were made to measure and blend in precisely with the furnishings and room structure.
They create structure and depth without forcing themselves into the foreground.
Spatial effect through material awareness
The interplay of lava, wood, textiles and light characterises the new reception area - unobtrusive, inviting, full of character.
Design with sophistication and function
The lava basins were deliberately combined with natural materials - wood, brass and stone.
Enamelled lava stone not only provides visual depth, but also impresses with its
- Shock resistance and durability
- Easy-care, non-porous surface
- Timeless aesthetics with artisanal origins
This project shows how design, function and responsibility can work together.
The choice in favour of Pyrolave was a decision in favour of quality, sustainability - and aesthetics that last.
A radical change of perspective:
British Landone of the UK's leading property development and investment companies, was looking to redevelop the building to create a new look. 100 Liverpool Street deliberately break with the convention of the typical, sterile corporate lobby.
The result?
A surprising, ambitious space - Social, inviting and warmcharacterised by high-quality materials and clear architectural lines.
Enamelled lava stone from Pyrolave UK was used specifically to emphasise precisely this character.
